via TechCrunch 2012 Resolution
Last year, I switched from a generic resolution to accomplishments. I did not fair well. My reason for not doing well has everything to do with my own execution but after reflecting I feel as though I did not give credit to the items I accomplished not on the initial list. The problem with listing accomplishments at beginning of the year is that you have a full year of priority changes and perspective changes. So, this year I am changing back to resolutions.
My new resolution is to Do Hard Things and become more social. Not sure how this is going to manifest itself. However, at years end I plan to have something accomplished to speak to on these two areas.
2011 Accomplishments? Back at the beginning of the year I posted the things I wanted to accomplish in 2011. How did I do? Not so well. We got a new car and the bike rack did not fit. So, I hardly ever got to Blankets Creek to bike. I launched magicjutsu.com but I did not popularize it. Tisha says I accomplished showing her how much she means to me, but I cannot put my finger on how I did it specifically. And, again for another year, being spontaneous is hard. My kids had a great fun this year but I did not really take a chance to surprise them. Excuses aside, it was a good year. I did not nearly die as I did the end of 2010. I stayed happy at home and content at work. My new team at work is beginning to blaze trails in new areas. I gave a speech in front of all of AT&T. Billy and Gabby are doing great at school. They surprise me on how incredibly smart and important they are each week. So, although, I did not accomplish the trivial goals I set forth, I had a good year.
